Erections
A boner is slang for an erection of the human penis. I have tried to find out the history of the slang, but wasn't successful. It's interesting that the human male erection is not actually created by a bone. An erection of the penis occurs as the spongy tissues of the penis are engorged with blood. Most other mammals do have a penile bone called the baculum.
