We are yet to complete this page - sorry - below we have just added some of our early thoughts that we find curious / interesting!
Gay (male) pornography is treated as a separate category in adult movies
- yet lesbian (gay females) pornography is seen as part of mainstream heterosexual
adult entertainment (i.e. heterosexual males seem to find male homosexuality
non-erotic, and female homosexuality erotic).
It seems reasonable that this relates to human's evolved instincts. Obviously
the most central is that males find nude women sexually attractive, more
so if they are engaged in sex.
And the male instinct to be dominant and thus form a harem of females to
increase his genetic offspring also seems relevant.
Of course we should also consider why homosexuality exists. Clearly it
is an evolved instinct - homosexuality exists in many species, and in the
human species throughout history, across all cultures.
We suspect it has a lot to do with social harmony. Where you have dominant
males who control many women (harem), then there will be an excess of single
males. Evolving a certain percentage of the male population to be gay (or
more commonly, bisexual) solves this problem.
It is also worth considering the lesbian / bisexual aspect of females, and
whether this relates to living in a harem with many other females and one
or several dominant males.
We have some research to support these speculations - we will gather more
and write this up soon.
