Sincerely,
From
the essay: 'A variety of dances are offered in exotic dance clubs and are
performed both in the main areas and in a more private area that is often
curtained off. The US version of ‘lap dancing’ requires the
woman to straddle the man’s lap and grind or brush against him. A
variation involves the woman dancing between the customer’s legs while
sliding down in the chair so that her thighs are rubbing the customer’s
genitals as she moves.
Lap dancing clubs originated in the US. Exotic dance clubs began opening there in the 1960s. During the next 30 years there was a slow, but steady growth. Some clubs stage regular dance events for lesbians, gay men and heterosexual women.
Lap dancing has been described as ‘the fastest growing area in Britain's sex industry’, and in the leisure industry in general. It has invaded popular culture at a time when ‘ho and pimp’ chic is at its height. The song ‘Lapdance’ by the hip hop act N.E.R.D sold three hundred thousand copies in the US, with lyrics suggesting a link between stripping and girl power.'

From the essay: 'We examined ovulation cycle effects on tip earnings by
professional lap dancers working in gentlemen's clubs. Eighteen dancers
recorded their menstrual periods, work shifts, and tip earnings for 60 days.
A mixed model analysis of 296 work shifts (representing about 5300 lap dances)
showed an
interaction between cycle phase and hormonal contraception use.
Normally cycling participants earned about US $335 per 5 hour shift during
estrus, US $260 per shift during the luteal phase, and US $185 per shift
during menstruation. By contrast, participants using contraceptive pills
showed no estrous earnings peak.
These results constitute the first direct economic evidence for the existence and importance of estrus in contemporary human females, in a real world work setting. These results have clear implications for human evolution, sexuality and economics.'

From
the website: 'Pole dancing is a form of dancing / gymnastics that involves
muscular endurance and coordination. It involves dancing sensually with
a vertical pole and is often used in strip clubs and gentlemen's clubs,
although more recently artistic pole dancing is used in non-erotic environments.
Recognised schools and qualifications are being developed as pole dancing
increases in popularity.
The dancers may simply hold the pole, or use it to perform more athletic moves such as climbs, spins, and body inversions. Upper body and core strength are important to proficiency, which takes time to develop.

any human emotion, no matter how far it may be removed from the sphere of
sex, and you are sure to discover somewhere the primal impulse, to which
life owes its perpetuation. ... The primitive stages can always be re-established;
the primitive mind is, in the fullest meaning of the word, imperishable.
... Mans most disagreeable habits and idiosyncrasies, his deceit, his cowardice,
his lack of reverence, are engendered by his incomplete adjustment to a
complicated civilisation. It is the result of the conflict between our instincts
and our culture. (Sigmund Freud)
